Cake or Dice is Dundee’s board game café with over 480 games, affordable food and drink, and a welcoming alcohol free environment. We are a Social Enterprise and reinvest profits back into improving the cafe and our activities.

We serve coffee, tea, soft drinks, cakes and light meals. We focus on keeping options affordable so you can stay and play comfortably.

Booking is recommended during evenings, and we highly recommend booking on weekends. Walk ins are welcome when tables are available. Tickets for special events and workshops are available through Eventbrite.

No. We are an alcohol free venue. Many of our visitors choose us because they want a relaxed space without alcohol.

A daily membership is £10, and will give you access to you and 3 friends to our full board game library for your visit. Monthly membership is £35 and offers you and a friend full access to our games library, plus a 10% discount on food and drink during the week.

Your membership gives you access to our full games library during your visit. It helps us maintain and expand our collection, cover rent and rates, and keep this safe evening space open for the community.

Yes, you are welcome to bring your own games. A valid daily or monthly membership is still required to use table space, even if you are playing a personal game rather than one from our library.

Your visit membership gives you access to games for your session. Many groups choose to order food or drinks during their stay and make a day or evening of it.

Yes. Many people visit solo and join our free learn to play sessions, run on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings. We aim to provide a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.

Families are definitely welcome! We have a kids menu, please ask at the till. Children must be supervised at all times. 

Yes! We offer table reservations and private hire options depending on availability. Contact us with your preferred date and group size.

We have a small team of active volunteers supporting front of house and kitchen. If you are interested in volunteering, please keep an on our socials, we will be advertising soon!
